Healthy Start Program

Statistics show over 40 Million Children can be affected by Sleep Disorders and 9 out of 10 Children are suffering from one or more symptoms of sleep related breathing symptoms. HealthyStart™ evaluates and treats the underlying root cause. Not a band-aid but if started early enough, a permanent fix.
When children are young, their bodies are able to adjust and mold easily, particularly in their mouth and their bone structure. Crowded teeth may force the tongue forward against their teeth, narrowing their dental arch and constricting the airway. Breathing properly is necessary for the health of a child. Healthy Start straightens teeth without braces.  For more information go to www.thehealthystartcom

Perio Maintenance

Perio Maintenance involves a deeper than normal dental cleaning. Patients with  a history of periodontal disease need deeper cleanings because periodontal “pockets” have formed. Pockets are spaces between the teeth and gums where plaque and tartar form.
Perio maintenance cleanings require 4 visits per year. Most insurances will only cover two perio cleanings per year unless you have Smile wellness benefits attached to your insurance plan. With a 5 minute assessment your hygienist can evaluate if you meet the need for added benefits. Be sure to ask at your visit.

Oral cancer screening

At a routine checkup, Dr Walker can spot a lot more than just cavities. He can detect the symptoms of oral cancer – another reason why it is so important to visit your dentist for regular checkups and exams.

Dr Walker is looking for signs of oral cancer during your regular exams. If you have symptoms or if you're at risk for getting oral cancer,  Dr Walker may request additional screenings. Depending on your dental benefits plan, these preventive services are often covered at 100 percent, so you incur little or no out-of-pocket costs.

Root Canal Therapy

A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Without treatment, the tissue surrounding the tooth will become infected and abscesses may form. Dr Walker is able to take care of your Root Canal treatment in office. Plan on an hour for treatment and walk out feeling relaxed and better.

Sleep/ Snore Appliances

Oral appliance therapy is an effective treatment option for snoring and obstructive sleep apnea . A custom-fit oral sleep appliance can improve your sleep, restore your alertness and revitalize your health. Worn only during sleep, an oral appliance fits like a sports mouth guard or an orthodontic retainer. It supports the jaw in a forward position to help maintain an open upper airway. Research shows that oral appliance therapy is an effective treatment option for snoring and obstructive sleep apnea.
Dr Walker can recommend the oral appliance that is best for you. Oral appliance therapy is covered by many medical insurance plans. Our office will work closely with  your physician to treat snoring and sleep apnea. At your first visit, Dr Walker will talk to you about the benefits of treatment. You also will receive information on the potential side effects and the cost of therapy.

Implants

Before development of dental implants, dentures were the only alternative to replacing a missing tooth or teeth.
Implants are synthetic structures that are placed in the area of the tooth normally occupied by the root. Implants are anchored to the jawbone or metal framework on the bone and act as a foundation for an artificial tooth or permanent bridge. In some cases, implants can be used to attach dentures.
Implants are so well designed that they mimic the look and feel of natural teeth.
You should consider dental implants if you are looking for a permanent, healthy, and cost-effective solution for replacing your missing or failing teeth. Dental implants are one of the most popular tooth replacement options available today because they look, feel, and function just like natural teeth. In addition, no other tooth replacement option prevents the destructive bone deterioration that can occur from tooth loss — this means that like natural teeth, dental implants preserve the condition of your oral health. If you are looking for a solution to restore your smile, call us today for your free consultation.

Orthodontic Care

We work side by side with Idaho Orthodontics to bring you a happy healthy smile. Idaho Orthdontics visits our office on the second Wednesday of every month and provides the best care for  your Orthodontic needs. Occasionally a bracket may come loose or a wire might be prodding your cheek. You dont need to wait until you can make a trip to Pocatello. Dr Walker can fix it. We can also brighten that smile for you with uPhoria. Our ultrasonic whitening system. You worked hard for that beautiful smile. Its time to show it off.

Dentures/Partials/Bridges

and Veneers

A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and adjacent tissues. It is made of acrylic resin, sometimes in combination with various metals.
Complete dentures replace all the teeth, while a partial denture fills in the spaces created by missing teeth and prevents other teeth from changing position.

Candidates for complete dentures have lost most or all of their teeth. A partial denture is suitable for those who have some natural teeth remaining. A denture improves chewing ability and speech, and provides support for facial muscles. It will greatly enhance the facial appearance and smile.

Whitening Trays

If you avoid smiling because your teeth aren't as white as they could be, you do have safe and simple options to improve your smile alongside brushing and flossing. One option is a bleaching procedure that uses custom whitening trays to put that healthy look back into your mouth without the expense of costly, generic cosmetic treatment.

The most effective and safest whitening treatment, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry recommends using custom-fitted mouth trays made by your dentist. Tooth-whitening gel can leak out of ill-fitting trays causing irritation to your gums, as well as not whitening as efficiently as custom trays. With trays that specifically fit your mouth and bite, you can avoid these problems. Ask about our Whitening for Life program. For $99 get your custom trays made and then get free whitening every time you complete your 6 month cleaning. Ask at your next visit.

Reveal Clear Aligners

Have you always wanted straighter teeth? Don’t want the hassle or unsightly appearance of braces?  Get the smile you’ve always desired with clear aligners from Reveal.

Clear aligners are a series of clear, lightweight plastic trays that correct misaligned teeth in patients with permanent dentition (i.e. all second molars). With continuous gentle forces, clear aligners move teeth gradually to bring them into alignment. The trays are custom-made for each patient based on the mold of his or her teeth.
Reveal Clear Aligners are a simple, discreet, and affordable solution for straighter teeth. Reveal Aligners are practically invisible and stay clear throughout treatment – no yellowing or staining. With Reveal, you wear each tray for two weeks, and they are guaranteed to stay clear throughout the course of treatment.

Some aligner brands require attachments, which are tooth-colored buttons that are glued to the teeth in order to control tooth movement. Attachments can be an aggravation. They require time at the dentist’s office to place on the teeth, and some patients think they are unsightly.

Reveal was specially designed to eliminate the need for attachments. Reveal uses a unique material and manufacturing process that results in a secure fit to hug the teeth, resulting in tooth movement without attachments.
